President – Geraldine Elliott

Geraldine joined STS in 2010 serving as Secretary, VP and Governance Subcommittee chair, becoming President at the 2014 AGM and being re-elected for a second term at the 2016 AGM.   With a doctorate in pharmacy & an MBA, Geraldine has spent most of her career in the pharmaceutical industry & has NFP leadership experience with Asthma Victoria, professional associations and on government committees.  She has broad ranging international management skills in strategic planning, financial analysis, leadership development, change management & stakeholder engagement.


Secretary (non-voting position) – Jenny Somes

Joining STS in 2014 and appointed Secretary at the 2015 AGM, Jenny is an active volunteer recently receiving a recognition award as Men’s Program stylist from our Patron.  With a science degree, an MBA and currently studying Mandarin, Jenny has worked with multinational oil, gas & mining companies.  Jenny has held a range of leadership roles including President of UQ Toastmasters and Shell’s CO2 Working Group and National Safety Day.


Board Member – Ailsa Crane

A retired Diversional Therapist & administrative assistant in the aged care industry, Ailsa has been a STS volunteer since 2012, joining the Board at the 2014 AGM with special responsibility for our volunteer program and Boutique.   She was re-elected for a second term at the 2016 AGM.  Ailsa has been an active fundraiser in community organisations and has experience in small grant applications.  Ailsa’s portfolio covers the Boutique and volunteer program.


Board Member - Dianne Gillis

With a chemical engineering degree & qualifications in Dispute Resolution, Dianne is undertaking a Masters in HR Management & has consulted since 2000 focusing on improved workplace people performance.  Dianne has served on the STS HR Subcommittee since 2014, joining the Board in 2015 with responsibility for the HR portfolio.  She has extensive management experience in process engineering, production management, PR/stakeholder management and HR.  Dianne has a long history of voluntary work with community organisations & professional bodies. 


Board Member - Kathy Corbiere

Kathy has volunteered with STS since 2014 as a stylist, evaluating client feedback & outcomes & writing funding applications, joining the Board at the 2015 AGM.  With degrees in education, women’s studies and a doctorate, Kathy has held senior roles in public policy, strategic planning, contract & change management, leading major reforms in government business processes.  Kathy engages effectively with diverse groups & has extensive experience on government & community Boards.  Kathy has responsibility for the funding and grant applications portfolio.


Board Member - Rhonda Bird

Rhonda, a business consultant, has tertiary qualifications in management & homeopathy.  She has senior management experience in change management, business transformation, process reengineering, team development, continual improvement philosophy, and documentation for increased operational efficiency and growth.  Rhonda joined the STS Board at the 2015 AGM and has responsibility for the portfolio covering business processes and quality. 


Board Member - Marsha Strelow

With degrees in management, business, finance & banking and a qualification in business administration, Marsha has senior manager experience in strategic planning & strategy implementation, budget management, expenditure control, budgeting & financial reporting.  Marsha joined STS in 2011 and has been involved in implementing our fee-for-service Referral Agency strategy before joining the Board at the 2015 AGM with responsibility for the relationship development portfolio.  Marsha is an accomplished collaborative networker and negotiator of commercial outcomes and has previous NFP experience in community organisations & fundraising.


Board Member – Julie Anderson

With a BA in communication, journalism and public relations and a Grad Cert MBA, Julie has extensive experience in leading and managing communication/marketing activities, strategic and operational change management and business development for many of Australia’s major construction and advisory firms.  She is currently a business consultant to an agri-business start-up and other major public and private companies.    Julie was elected for a 2-year term as Board Member at the 2016 AGM with responsibility for the marketing and public relations portfolio.


Board Member – Hayley Ripper

With degrees in Business Management (HR) and Arts (Psychology), Hayley has extensive experience in strategic and operational Human Resources Management. Hayley has also held volunteer leadership positions in Toastmasters including President, VP Education and Secretary. Hayley has been assisting with STS HR Subcommittee activities and carrying out a mentoring role within the Professional Women’s Group (PWG) prior to joining the Board in November 2015.  She was elected for a 2-year term at the 2016 AGM.  Hayley takes responsibility for the Dress for Success® Brisbane portfolio which includes the Development Network.
