We receive over 48,000 clothing items donated each year, usually in plastic bags
In 2017 Suited to Success received over 48,000 clothing donations in Brisbane, most of which were donated in plastic bags. The ethos of Suited to Success is to recycle and repurpose clothing, so the plastic bags posed a real problem.
What to do with the plastic bags?
The solution was to create a Tote Bag that could be recycled and repurposed. We didn’t want a boring shopping bag with a logo, we wanted something that was a fashion piece, that looked great and also told an important story about our work in the community.
We found a Tote Bag that was Australian Made along with a local Brisbane printer, The Print Bar.
100% cotton canvas, machine washable with reinforced shoulder straps and one large main compartment. Perfect for any occasion.
Talented Fashion Illustrator Eugenie Zhan was charged with illustrating one of our success clients to appear on the Tote Bag.
Success client Erin was chosen, illustrated and went to print. Eugenie said
My idea was to really capture the clients essence and personality.
The tree captures Erin’s journey of growth and vibrancy,
just like a beautiful tree growing and flourishing

“I look back at the woman I was in 2011 and who I am today, they are chalk and cheese, sometimes I have to pinch myself at how far I have come “
You can purchase the Erin Client Tote bag for $25.

Bubbles & Beauties is the annual fashion fundraising event for Suited to Success raising valuable funds to support clients. The event graphics, created by the talented fashion illustrator Eugenie, was so beautiful that we also decided to print a ‘limited edition’ Tote Bag.
